Seeking Youth Hosts For Nonviolence Now Podcast

Are you passionate about promoting peace and social change? We're hiring 4-5 dynamic young individuals aged 18-25 to work collaboratively to create an 8-episode podcast series that explores the power of nonviolence. Topics could include social movements, interpersonal conflict skills, restorative justice, self-care, street teams and violence prevention efforts, peacebuilding, community organizing, current protests, historic campaigns, and much more. Podcast hosts will determine the content and style of the production with support and input from Pace e Bene Staff.

This project is cosponsored by Nonviolence Now, Nonviolence News, Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service, and the MK Gandhi Institute. Each podcast episode will be posted on the main podcast platforms such as itunes, spotify etc. It will also be shared through the newsletters, websites, and social media of Pace e Bene and the other co-sponsors, and be posted on Waging Nonviolence.

Nonviolence Now is an on-going campaign to popularize nonviolence in a variety of mediums. In 2019, they won a grant to place a full-sized ad in Newsweek opposing gun violence. They also placed digital ads on websites promoting violence (like gun sales) or where youth were likely to visit. A second round of digital ads gave rise to Nonviolence News, which collects and distributes 30-50 stories of nonviolent action each week. In 2021, they collaborated with Rochester, NY, municipal transportation to place two nonviolence-promoting advertisements on city buses. This was followed by a school-based outreach effort, and a billboards and yard signs campaign. In collaborating with Pace e Bene, Nonviolence News, MK Gandhi Institute, and youth hosts,  Nonviolence Now is continuing this mission to make the media landscape a healthier, more positive space by interrupting the status quo of violence in our culture.
